A q-plate is a flat optical element based on geometric-phase metasurfaces that converts the polarization state of light into orbital angular momentum, enabling the generation of optical vortex and vector beams. q-plates are key enabling components for structured light exploitation, from high-resolution microscopy to quantum technologies and next-generation optical communication systems.
MetaPhoX designs and manufactures dielectric metasurface q-plates for the efficient generation and manipulation of structured light. By exploiting geometric-phase engineering, our devices perform high-efficiency vortex generation in an ultra-thin optical element, replacing bulky conventional optics with compact, high-performance flat components.
Our q-plates are designed for applications in quantum technologies, optical communications, beam shaping, integrated photonics and advanced optical instrumentation.
